To-be-renovated shopping center in Little Rock

The East Roosevelt Shopping Center at 1000 E. Roosevelt Road has changed hands. The to-be-renovated shopping center was bought by LMS LLC, led by Tommy Lasiter, president of the Doyle Rogers Co.; Steve Strauss; and the Moses family of Moses Tucker Real Estate. The group bought the property from East Roosevelt Road Shopping Center LLC, led by Bruce Thalheimer and Bob Sherman for $650,000. The shopping center is anchored by a Kroger store and will be getting another retailer for space previously occupied by Family Dollar. The center will get a new exterior and roof, as well. Moses Tucker and the Doyle Rogers Co. will co-manage the center and handle the leasing.

Moses Tucker Sells MacArthur Commons for $10.5M

Moses Tucker Real Estate announced Friday the $10.5 million sale of the new MacArthur Commons apartment complex at 414 East Capitol Ave. in downtown Little Rock. Previously the site of Arkla Gas headquarters, the 59-unit, three-story building was originally planned to include 84 units and cost $13 million. It was designed to provide upscale, yet affordable housing for residents looking to live downtown. The complex, announced in August 2013, offers amenities including street-lined porches, large balconies, a swimming pool and a fitness facility. In its heyday, the hustle and bustle of editors, reporters, print-setters, and photographers winding actively throughout the loud printing presses of the Arkansas Democrat, was a daily happening from the time it was built in 1916, until the printing presses ceased to run in the early 1930’s. Charles Thompson designed the building in 1916 for the Arkansas Democrat Newspaper. The Democrat was an active competitor to the local Gazette during the entirety of its life. Moses Tucker Real Estate announced today, Nov. 6, the sale of the brand new MacArthur Commons apartment complex for $10.5 million. Located at 414 E. Capitol Ave. in the River Market District of downtown Little Rock and previously the site of the former Arkla Gas Headquarters, MacArthur Commons is the first new downtown residential complex to be built in Little Rock in over three decades.
